Introduction to Faculty:
Teaching staff includes 135 teachers,
among them 27 doctors and 104 candidates of science.
Every
year the faculty issued about 30 faculty manuals on various subjects published
in the central staff of over 140 journals articles. Staff of faculty
participates in scientific conferences at international, national and regional
level.
In
2008/2009, the members of the faculty received 25 patents of Ukraine and
certificates of invention. Staff of the faculty presented 29 innovations, among
themhospital care - 8, pathology
Department of Anatomy and topographic anatomy – 4, general surgery number 2 - 1
and others.
The syllabuses of fundamental sciences are
very close to those of the "General Medicine", however much attention
is paid to the peculiarities of the vitality of infantile organism. Of the
multitude of clinical subjects students study pediatrics and surgery of a
child's age. Those, who successfully complete their education, acquire the
diploma of pediatrician and can be engaged in treating patients at children
hospitals, continue their study and be involved in research work.
A doctor-pediatrician must be a
high-educated person, possess wide knowledge in the field of biological,
medical and special sciences and be not only a doctor but also an educator. A
student receives general biological and medical education at first courses; the
pediatrics education starts from the third course to the sixth course. Students
of the pediatrics faculty master knowledge at many chairs during 6 years of
study , where they study anatomy, physiology, pathology and hygiene of childish
age.
After passing state exams all the students
with diplomas of doctors-pediatrician go to children's medical and prophylactic
establishments for passing the internship during one year. The internship gives
an opportunity to specialize in the earlier chosen pediatrician profession.
Graduates of the pediatrics faculty the
doctors-pediatricians work in all parts of our country. Some of them became
scientists, others - practical doctors.
